There are several types of home insurance policies, but at Lumen Select, most contain the same basic elements:
Declarations Page: Usually the first page of your policy, your declaration page will contain the following summary of information about your coverage:
Name and address of the insured
Dollar amount of coverage
Cost of the insurance coverage
Property description
Name of the insurance company insuring the risk

Definitions: Explains the meaning of terms used in the homeowners policy.
Coverage: Details the extent of protection for both property (house, structures, contents) and liability (bodily injury or property damage to others for which you are liable) in your homeowners insurance policy.
Exclusions: Explanation of what is not covered by your homeowners insurance policy, under both property and liability coverage.
Conditions: Outline the responsibilities of both the insured and insurance company under the policy. Your duties in the event of a loss and the procedures the company will follow to settle any losses are detailed here.
Endorsements: Riders, amendments or attachments that alter the standard coverage provided by your home insurance policy. If you choose endorsements for your policy, you may pay an additional premium for them.
Lumen Select uses a replacement cost estimator to determine the value of your home. Lumen Select also offers an option to insure your home value at “market” which is an option for certain customers to save annually on their home insurance premiums.
Lumen Select’s rating plan will increase your premium at renewal if your policy has a non-weather claim. Examples of non-weather claims could be a fire loss, a sudden water leak, or a dog bite claim.
Lumen Select offers many options to pay your premiums. Our policies can be billed to your mortgagee (escrow bill), and monthly, quarterly, or bi-annual options are also available via EFT, credit card, or policy bill.
